Brief study of the relation between AGM postulates (-7) and (+7) under non-classical logics

چکیده
This paper studies the implication relations between the AGM postulates ( 7) and (+̇7) under non-classical logics, namely intuitionistic logic, paraconsistent logic, G3 and G3'. In order to do so, some theorems on the implication relations between such postulates are drawn for logics with a special set of axioms. These are later used to deduce similar results under the four logics of interest. Then we discuss a possible solution for our lack of su cient conditions for the implication relations to hold under some of the studied logics.

Minimal Change in AGM Revision for Non-Classical Logics
In this paper, we address the problem of applying AGMstyle belief revision to non-classical logics. We discuss the idea of minimal change in revision and show that for non-classical logics, some sort of minimality postulate has to be explicitly introduced. We also present two constructions for revision which satisfy the AGM postulates and prove the representation theorems including minimality p...
متن کاملRevision by Translation
In this paper, we show that it is possible to accomplish belief revision in any logic which is translatable to classical logic. We start with the example of the propositional modal logic K and show that a belief operation in K de ned in terms of K0s translation to classical logic veri es the AGM postulates. We also consider the case of non-classical logics by taking Belnap's four-valued logic [...
متن کاملMinimal change: Relevance and recovery revisited
The operation of contraction (referring to the removal of knowledge from a knowledge base) has been extensively studied in the research field of belief change, and different postulates (e.g., the AGM postulates with recovery, or relevance) have been proposed, as well as several constructions (e.g., partial meet) that allow the definition of contraction operators satisfying said postulates. Most...
متن کاملRelaxation-based revision operators in description logics
As ontologies and description logics (DLs) reach out to a broader audience, several reasoning services are developed in this context. Belief revision is one of them, of prime importance when knowledge is prone to change and inconsistency. In this paper we address both the generalization of the well-known AGM postulates, and the definition of concrete and well-founded revision operators in diffe...
متن کاملOn Generalizing the AGM Postulates
The AGM theory is the dominating paradigm in the field of belief change but makes some non-elementary assumptions which disallow its application to certain logics. In this paper, we recast the theory by dropping most such assumptions; we determine necessary and sufficient conditions for a logic to support operators which are compatible with our generalized version of the theory and show that ou...
